2017 New Tech Going Old School?

1/1/2017

Picture
2017 a Game Changer year.
My bold prediction is the best new technology will be a combination of old tech hacks (i.e. flywheels, composite plastic, trade secret recipes to get healthy, etc) and new applications.

As hardware techies can attest anything generating motion has the potential to generate electricity. I hope to see more power assisting bikes on the road as more people commute via bike. Convection ovens, dryers and washing machines will pay for them selves with 90% – 50% power reduction lowering your electric bill. Fitness centers retrofit the cycles, treadmills and stair climbers with mini generators and become a local power source to feed into the regional power grid.

Hoping hybrid truck can get a boost with solar cell coating and wind technology generating the majority of power, so they only need to sip gas. I can see that headline “18 Wheeler Gets 100 miles to the Gallon”.

Stylish homes that can be built in 4 weeks and withstand hurricane force winds.

Develop water technology processes that will generate power and/or fresh clean water.

The old video phone does a redo as smart phone combine with a TV monitor lets you see everyone in the room.

The driverless car has been 20 years in the making, give it another year or two before it goes main stream.

These are just a few things on my wish list for 2017. What are yours?
