A Slice of Tech Pie ..... 1

Somewhere in Los Angeles CA


Police Commissioner Chris Stone is looking out his window watching smoke bathed in orange light in the distance of the Los Angeles skyline.

" Alright Jack, what is the status on these explosions?" demands  commissioner Stone.

"Sir, early reports say this was just a tragic accident caused by some gas leaks, but FBI and Homeland Security are on site and have not ruled out terrorism." respond Jack James whose is tapping on his IPAD as he talks.

"There have been 20 deaths and 10 people unaccounted for and multiple injuries." Jack wipes the soot from his eyeglasses.

"Make sure this is run by the numbers, check and double check facts because the CNN press will be all over my ass on this one. I want personal updates on the hour . We'll need to make a press statement for the 11 pm news. This LabTech company where the explosions occurred , what's their story?" ask as the commissioner spins around wiping his bald head to face Jack.

"Sir they are a small tech company that has developed breakthrough components for major manufactures of electronics, materials, energy and automated manufacturing processes. This was their main research facility that employed 105 people and another 50 scattered at different sites around the world.  Their net worth before this incident was about 10 billion and rapidly growing." Jack rattled off.

"I want you to dig down on this Jack,  make sure we don't have a preventable industrial accident that this company caused. Alert our legal staff we may have to sue them for damages and city services."
