A Slice of Tech Pie - Chess King Rules ..3

Treble Jones a goofy kid of 20 is located in a dark basement surrounded by 4 monitors quickly typing away at a key board. He swings around in his chair to the larger monitor which has an image of a chess board and an insert of a guy with a Labtech baseball cap.
 
Treble swipes over a chess piece, remarking “Hey Al that’s check for now and checkmate in 5 moves.”
 
The gravelly voice over the speakers retorts, “You sure are a cocky SOB for such a homebody youngster. Let’s speed up the clock from 1 minute between moves to 10 sec.”
 
Treble leans back in his chair, “Ok you old hipster why don’t we cut it in half to 5 sec.”
 
The guy in the insert turns his baseball cap around the inscription reads Let Us Blow You Away and responds, “OK, your on!”.
 
There is clicking and beeping noise at about 2 sec intervals as the chess piece images move around with a background noise of a ticking clock.
 
Al starts the quips, “Ah, ha!”.
 
Treble responds, “Watch that queen go crazy”.
 
 Al retorts, “Don’t let the pawn fool ya!”.
 
“Crap!” shouts Treble as he stands up.
 
Al smiles, asks for a knight. “I do believe that is checkmate”.
 
Treble sits back down shaking his head, “How in the hell did you pull that off. I had you”.
 
Al comes back with, “This old dog still has some tricks left. It’s all about focus and gut feel sometimes… or knowing how your opponent thinks”.
 
“OK, let’s play another game like, Go”, responds Treble.
 
“No time, I have a design review in 10,” responds Al. “What are you working on these days?”
 
“I’m just hacking around seeing what research our government is into”, says Treble.
 
“ Be careful, in the age of terrorism the FBI is not very forgiving.” Al shoots back.
 
“I’m not looking at the classified stuff just the pure research on energy technologies and stuff”, answers Treble.
 
An irate female voice shouts, “Treble! Treble get your laundry out of the machine! I got stuff to do. The mess you made in the kitchen is still waiting for you too. I want it done now!”.
 
“Oh Ma! I know! Be there in a sec”, responds Treble as he gets up from the chair.
 
Al chuckles a little, “You in college but still living with you mother? You need to get out on your own and experience life”.
 
“Yeah, that’s what she tells me all the time”, explains Treble. “See you next week for another game?”.
 
“Yes, same time. Then I’ll talk to you about your future too”, responds Al.
